A Brand New Race

"But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light."1 Peter 2:9
In this time of cultural division, it is important to note that there is no division in the true body of Christ. There is no separation of the affluent and non-affluent; the educated and uneducated; this color and that color; this language and that language.
The Apostle Paul says it best in GALATIANS 3:28: “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” And Peter tells us how and why this is possible in our verse – We are a brand new race! Did you get that? A new race, a chosen people for God’s own possession for the purpose of proclaiming His excellence! It is this unique oneness with Christ that opens the way for the body of Christ – true believers of every persuasion – to penetrate, influence, and heal a divided culture.
