The King Who Relinquished His Throne

"He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf that we might become the righteousness of God in Him."2 Corinthians 5:21
A couple of years ago, a controversial billboard popped up in several cities. It depicted Jesus covered with tattoos of words representing the sin, pain, and bondage of mankind.
The “tattooed Jesus” was a unique visual that communicated the truth of our verse: He who was without sin took all the sin of the world upon Himself. Jesus, who had no sin, died the death of the ultimate sinner so that we, who are ultimate sinners, might become righteous, or “right with God.”
In other words, on the cross, God treated Jesus as if He had lived your life so He could treat you as if you had lived the life of Jesus. That’s indeed amazing grace!
