Be mine
"You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everyone. You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts."2 Corinthians 3:2-3
In 1847 Oliver Chase invented a machine to make throat lozenges, which led to the beginning of America’s candy industry. With his machine and a tweak to the formula, Chase was able to shape small candy wafers into hearts and imprint them with words. Those little “candy love letters” have been a sweet tradition of Valentine’s Day for generations.
Paul told the believers in the church at Corinth they were “living love letters” written on his heart. In the same way, our decision to receive Christ is written on the heart of God. And as always, God took the initiative by sending an invitation of love from His heart to ours. Like those little candy hearts, His invitation simply says: “Be Mine.” Have you responded to God’s loving invitation? If not, “become His” right now!
