Beautiful Music

What would happen if you purchased tickets to hear an orchestra play Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony, but when you arrived the performance was by an elementary school orchestra? If you hadn’t heard the symphony before, you might wonder why it is regarded as such a beautiful piece of classical music. That would not be a fair way to appraise the music, would it?

When people look at your life as an example of what it means to be a Christian, they might be similarly perplexed. As Christians, we fail and fumble and make mistakes. You’ve probably heard me say, “We’re not perfect, just forgiven.” But even in our imperfection we can lift up Jesus and point people to Him, for He is Perfect. The beautiful music of His life will still come through.
