Fixing the Brokenness

My air-conditioning system went out recently. The AC company sent a couple of technicians who arrived in a truck loaded with state of the art equipment. But after some careful inspection, they realized they did not have what they needed to fix my particular problem. That’s the way it is with our own brokenness. There are all sorts of “state of the art fixes” offered in the world. We look to philosophy, but its repairs are tedious, frustrating, and never hold for long. Psychology can soothe us, but its fixes are temporary and the wounds tend to reopen.

Even religion fails to heal a broken heart. That’s because the answer is not some idea, self-help strategy, or program – it’s a Person. Jesus said He had come to heal the brokenhearted. So, call on Him. He arrives with the tools needed, and His repair jobs always stay fixed.
