"We have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will … so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work…"Colossians 1:9-10
The Academy Award winning movie “Chariots of Fire” depicts the life of Scottish Olympian and Christian missionary Eric Liddell. Some of Liddell’s family and friends questioned the time he was giving to his training and running, reminding him he was called to be a missionary in China. In a scene with his sister, Liddell says, “God made me for a purpose, for China. But He also made me fast, and when I run, I feel His pleasure.” Eric Liddell did not run for fun, fame, or fortune. He ran to honor God.
When we know God’s purpose for our lives, and we use our gifts and talents to glorify and honor Him, we too will feel His pleasure.
