Wild Horses

Even as Christians, there are things that can bind us and enslave us. Inside every person there is a whole herd of wild horses. We may call them by a lot of names – natural desire, instinct, basic drives – but they are wild horses. A big part of the business of life is discovering how to handle these wild horses in you and in me. The solution may surprise you. We invite our Heavenly Father to come put His arms around us, and to take those wild horses within us, help us put a bridle on them, and a saddle on them, so we can ride them all the way through life – for His glory and His honor.

You see, the most miserable person in the world is not someone who is not a Christian. It is a Christian who names the name of Christ but still has areas of life in which he is enslaved to sin. But if you are enslaved to Christ, you live to please Him and to be obedient to Him in every way. Then you become truly free. “Make me a captive, Lord, that I may be truly free”
