Humble Ourselves

"As the deer pants for the water brooks, So my soul pants for Thee, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God; When shall I come and appear before God?"Psalms 42:1-2
In these verses we are given a picture of a deer running from those who would hunt the animal down. He has been running so long that thirst has set in and he is at the point of exhaustion. David states that his desire to know God and feel His presence is so strong it’s like that deer looking for water.
Have you ever experienced that kind of passion to be in God’s presence? Whatever the occasion, how incredible it is that we can come into the very presence of God and fellowship with Him. Just thinking about that makes me thirsty. How about you?
